The Transforming Community Equipment Services (TCES) National Catalogue

The Retail Model
Marketplace
The retail model for community
equipment was developed by the Department of Health's national
Transforming Community Equipment Services (TCES)
team for local implementation by councils and their health
partners.
The national TCES team has now
handed over the retail model for local adoption. The Department of
Health has therefore commissioned ADL Smartcare Limited to host and
manage the national catalogue and tariff for Simple Aids to
Daily Living (SADLs) as an ongoing service to Local
Authority/NHS TCES teams establishing arrangements with their local
retail markets.
The TCES national catalogue and
tariff for Simple Aids to Daily Living (SADLs) is now fully hosted
and maintained by ADL Smartcare Limited.
The catalogue includes the most
common items of equipment issued through community equipment stores
in England. Generic specifications that meet clinical need have
been developed to ensure the widest range of equipment items are
available in the retail marketplace.
Please note, we are not responsible for the local
implementation of the TCES model, this is entirely the
responsibility of the local commissioners.
What are the elements of the National
Catalogue?
We are responsible for five aspects of the National Catalogue
infrastructure: maintaining and publishing the generic
specifications used for equipment prescriptions in various parts of
England, recommending to the DH the redemption value of the
prescriptions, the list of specifications prescribed in a
particular local area, the list of locally accredited retailers
meeting defined standards, and a list of specific products that
meet the specifications at the tariff price and/or with an
appropriate top-up charge.
Where can I find more
information?
For information on the specifications, the tariff and/or
information about your local implementation, please go to:
http://www.national-catalogue.org
where you may also provide feedback and comment through this
website.
If you are a manufacturer there is more information on how to
provide your equipment details in TCES_Manufacturers.pdf
If you are a retailer there is more information on how to
become accredited and indicate the products you supply in TCES_Retailers.pdf
Further information for retailers and manufacturers is also
available at SmartRetailer.
Do you charge for this service?
ADL Smartcare provides these basic services to local
authorities and their health partners, manufacturers of equipment
and the retailers at no cost where information is entered through
our systems. Comments and feedback can be provided through the
national website, however if you require advice and support there
will be a charge for such services. Information on how to implement
the TCES model in your area is outside the scope of our contract,
however advice and support may be available from the DH or other
TCES adopters.
